Stage Team.

Andy Sturdevant, Host

Andy is a writer, artist and arts administrator. He writes regularly about visual art for mnartists.org, and is the co-creator of Common Room, a roving site-specific interactive art series held at The Soap Factory and elsewhere. Publicly, Andy is sociable and charming. Privately, he writes entries in his notebook like "You can be merciless whenever your will is crossed and you have the right to be merciless." The preceding two sentences are lifted from the Wikipedia entry on L. Ron Hubbard, and have been used to fill space. Andy lives in South Minneapolis and works in Lowertown St. Paul.

Katie Condon, Organist & Musical Director

Katie has a BA in music/piano performance from the University of St. Thomas and a Masters of Music in musicology from Northwestern University. Her experience includes classroom music teaching, private piano instruction, and early childhood music. Katie spent a year teaching in Vienna, Austria through the Fulbright program. In addition to her work at MacPhail, she is narrator and education consultant for the WAMSO /Minnesota Orchestral Association Kinder Konzert series. Previous performing experience includes work with Minnesota Film Arts, Zenon Dance Company, and Landmark Center.  Every summer, she composes an original musical for the Summer Youth Theatre in Watertown, MN.

Jake Mohan, Drummer

Jake Mohan is a drummer and writer who will play the drums for pretty much anyone in any context at any time, for free or for free food. He will also write just about anything you need him to, but that takes a little more initiative and coffee. Jake loves the Twin Cities' bizzaro subculture that Salon Saloon consistently mines and synthesizes to great effect, and he is thrilled to be a part of it, if only as the guy who sits in the corner of the stage and hits things loudly. It's the role he was born to play.

Claire Tiller, Vocals

Claire shares a birthday with John Lennon, and her parents made her believe that that was something incredibly special.  Like, they are soul twins or something.  She still sort of thinks they are.  Regardless, a life-long love and pursuit of music followed.  She is from the Twin Cities, but feels Wisconsin (her college home) had an equal hand in raising her.

Behind the Scenes.

Colin Kloecker & Shanai Matteson, Producers

Colin Kloecker and Shanai Matteson of Works Progress "produce" Salon Saloon. While they don't really know what that means either, they do know they spend a lot of time co-writing the show, combobulating presenter media, and stroking Andy's enormous ego (a part time job in and of itself). At the show, you will see the two of them opening curtains and clapping enthusiastically from the dark corners of the theater. They both love bringing together the creative people that present, perform, and attend Salon Saloon. Works Progress is a network of collaborators who create multi-disciplinary events, programs and exhibits that inspire, inform and connect people in artful and innovative ways.

Elliott Durko Lynch, Technical Director

Elliott Durko Lynch is a performer, theater technician, and Sage Award nominated sound and media artist. He makes his own Public Service Announcements, danced and sang a song in Morgan Thorson's "Heaven," has made a few skits with choreographer Justin Jones, and used to stare at the audience for Anna Marie Shogren. Elliott co-curates the fArt Fest Video Night and will be changing VHS Cassettes for choreographer Laurie Van Wieren in her new project this upcoming winter.
